Description
Tillandsia are potted in 140mm squat pot. You will receive one pot from the cover photograph. Each single pot has 5 small plants which is what you will receive. We only have the one variety shown in the description photos. Picture of the flower is the flower on this specific tillandsia. This variety is a silvery/green but will change colour seasonally and get a pinkish hue to the tips.
Description: Tillandsia are know as air plants or epiphytes meaning they naturally grow on other plants or rocks instead of in soil. Absorbing water and nutrients directly through their leaves.
Care and Maintenance: Bright and indirect sunlight is best. Avoid direct afternoon sun which can scorch and dry out the plant. Good ventilation is a must. Depending on your climate watering is recommended 1 – 3 times a week allowing the plant to dry out in between watering’s. Curling inwards leaves are a sign of thirst. After flowing the “mother” plant will slowly die but it will then produce new plants called “pups” at the base. Once pups are one third the size of the mother they can be taken to start new plants.
Never plant tillandsia in standard potting soil or in standing water, you can mount them with floral wire, drop of hot glue or use old stocking to attach to surfaces.
